Study Says Virginia is Most Accommodating State for Retirement

June 7, 2017

At National Lutheran Communities & Services, we have always loved all that Virginia has to offer seniors when they retire. With two communities and our home care and home health service located in Virginia, we were confident that more people would begin to see what we have always believed; Virginia is a great state for retirement.

In a recent study, Virginia was ranked as the most accommodating U.S. state for seniors. Published by SeniorAdvice.com, the study ranked all 50 states using more than 100 variables within four different categories to determine which is the most accommodating for seniors when they retire. The categories included health and safety, recreation and leisure, finance and general quality of life.

Quality health care for seniors, outstanding home health care options, a strong economy, close proximity to nationally ranked hospitals, and a good climate all played a role in earning Virginia this prestigious rank.
